HIstory of the Wings of Kindness Foundation

Four members of a Juniata County family were found dead in their home on January 25, 2002. Mark Pannebaker, 37, his wife Marcy (Colyer) Pannebaker, 35, and their two daughters Elena, 13 and Amanda, 10 were shot and killed, by their son and brother, Steven Pannebaker.

The family members and community were devastated by this horrific incident but are determined to make something positive come out of it. As a result, Wings of Kindness Foundation was established in memory of Mark, Marcy, Elena and Amanda, who willing gave of themselves to help those less fortunate.

Wings of Kindness Foundation provides financial assistance to local children and organizations that assist in meeting the needs of young people in the Juniata River Valley. Goals for the foundation include providing money for: scholarships, college textbooks, food, clothing items, camps, health/fitness memberships and in other areas where there may be a need. Providing an outfit for a job interview, assisting in prom or class trip expenses, or sponsoring a trip to a camp are just a few specific examples of the ways in which underprivileged children are helped by the foundation.
